Protests break in Luxe County on this Friday afternoon as injustice and resistance arise following the mistreatment and arrest of a single mother of 5, Mimi Titti. What started as a normal routine stop by a Luxe County officer turned into a violent incident leaving witness Ben Overbish in a critical condition. The message today is justice for civilians. Protests demanding protection and safety for citizens met outside the station today, briefly adjourning. Mr. Overbish and family wish the community a peaceful weekend. As for Mimi, she was released and does not wish to provide a statement as the emotions she was under made her feel simply violated. While we are in support of our pink line, it's an important time to ask how we can to better to hold accountability in troubling times like these.
The police have always been here for us, and it took 1 incident to divide a community. We have spoke with several community members and Luxe officers. Tonight, we are taking a dive into the world of the police, in hopes of gaining insight on how to prevent things like this from happening in Luxe County. Captain Daya Rhea, a Luxe County officer, spoke with us in regards to the position and her experience with Luxe County in Los Santos.
She says being an officer helps her feel strong, brave, and helps her be a friend to everyone. After living in the city for quite some time, she decided it was enough and she wanted to give back to the community. She says "The roles of society, and really understanding incidents, ensure efficient care with convicts, felons, and civilians alike. When confronted with the incident she told us "Negligence is never accepted and officers will be held accountable on their 3 strike penalty". She urges you to contact the government and reach out to the police force directly if anyone has faced a violation in police handling. Something we should all be aware of and an issue we need to make sure never happens in the city.
The recidivism [repeat offender] rate is very high in the city, which Captain Daya noticed. She tells us that reforming coming first and it is hard to reform and assist civilians on their route to betterment when crime is at an all time high. The force is hiring and is looking for new recruits. She pushes for those who want to give back in the community to turn those unassigned shifts to be filled. And finally, she wants you to know that the pink have your back, and to always report negligence of police and civilians.
While Mimi Titti's arrest may have sparked an outrage, it is important to know that there are officers who want to better your experience and make the city a better place for all. Stay diligent, Thank you. The community is a safe space and it is important that we embrace, and protect, each other.
